Privacy Policy

Zahra Tales ("we", "us") provides Islamic bedtime stories for children, personalised with your family's characters. This policy explains what information the Zahra Tales mobile app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@zahratales.com.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign up we collect your phone number and/or email address to create and secure your account.
• Photos you upload. To create a character, you may upload photos (for example of yourself or your child). We use them solely to generate stylised storybook illustrations of that character.
• Generated content and library activity. The characters, illustrations and personalised books created for you, plus your favourites, ratings and reading progress, so your library works across your devices.
• Purchase information. Subscriptions and credits are billed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We receive purchase status (product, renewal, expiry) — never your card details.
• Device and notification data. If you enable notifications we store a push token. We also receive basic device information (app version, operating system) needed to run the service and fix problems.

How we use information

We use your information to provide the service — creating characters, generating illustrated and narrated stories, processing purchases, sending notifications you have enabled, providing support, and keeping the service safe. We do not sell personal information, we do not show third-party advertising, and we do not use your photos to train AI models.

AI processing and service providers

Illustrations and narration are generated using AI. To do this, your uploaded photos and story text are shared with our service providers through short-lived private links, only for the purpose of generating your content. Our providers, acting on our instructions:

• Supabase — secure hosting, authentication, database and file storage
• Kie AI — illustration and animation generation
• OpenAI — story text processing
• Fish Audio — audio narration
• RevenueCat — purchase management
• Expo — push notification delivery

Each provider is contractually bound to protect your information to the same standard described in this policy, to use it only to deliver these services on our behalf, and never for their own purposes or to train their models.

Children's privacy

Zahra Tales is designed for parents and guardians to use together with their children. Accounts must be created and managed by an adult (18+). Photos of children are uploaded by, and remain under the control of, the parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without parental consent, email support@zahratales.com and we will delete it.

Storage and security

Photos, illustrations and books are stored in private storage protected by access rules, so only your account can reach them, and are shared internally only via short-lived links. Data is encrypted in transit. Data may be processed on servers located outside your country; we apply the same protections wherever it is processed.

Retention and deletion

• Deleting a character permanently deletes its uploaded photos and generated illustrations.
• You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account), which removes your account data, characters, photos and library.
• You can also email support@zahratales.com to request deletion or a copy of your data.

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the service, or as required by law (for example purchase records).

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers listed above, when required by law, or to protect the safety of our users. We never sell it.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
